This female elephant is the mother of a baby elephant in the Munich zoo. While I was there, the baby elephant walked away from her and disappeared into the elephant house. A few minutes later we all heard a “distress call” from the baby. Before I had time to lower my camera this elephant was off and running with a speed I wouldn’t have believed possible for an elephant. She covered the 50 m distance within seconds and stormed into the house.
